A Gutter Full of Leaves Is a Liability
Once gutters block, rainwater has nowhere to go but backwards, into the eaves, wall cavities and ceilings. Homes under big established trees, like the older cottages around Kew, can fill a gutter in a single windy weekend. And where bush sits close to town, as it does around Bulahdelah, a gutter packed with dry litter is an open invitation to embers in fire season.
Clearing by hand is a chore that never stays done, and ladders put people in hospital every year. Guarding the gutter fixes the problem at its source.
How We Fit Gutter Guard
The product only performs when the install matches the roof, so measuring and fitting is done by roofers rather than general handymen.
Every run of mesh is cut to the actual roofline, including valleys and awkward junctions, rather than forced from standard lengths.
Steel mesh keeps its shape and strength for decades, where plastic goes brittle after a few summers of UV.
Non-combustible mesh removes the bed of dry leaves that embers most often ignite around a home.
Birds, possums and rodents lose their favourite entry point into your roof cavity.
Rainwater moves cleanly to the downpipes instead of pooling behind dams of debris.
The seasonal ladder ritual ends. An occasional visual check is all a guarded gutter usually needs.
An Install That Actually Works
Poorly fitted mesh sags, gaps and fails within a year or two. Ours is matched to the gutter profile and roof type first, then fitted so it stays taut and sealed, whether the home backs onto river flats at Cundletown or bushland further south.

Leaf Guard FAQs
Answers to the questions we get asked most.
A fine mesh screen sits over the gutter, letting rain fall through while leaves and twigs slide off or blow away. With debris kept out, gutters and valleys keep draining properly, protecting the roofline, eaves and walls from overflow.
Rarely, and never as a regular chore. Very fine material can settle over the years, so a periodic check is wise, but the days of scooping out handfuls of rotting leaves every season are over.
Steel mesh removes one of the most common ignition points on a house, which is a gutter bed of dry leaves catching wind-blown embers. For homes in bushfire-prone spots we can recommend ember-rated mesh options.
All-steel mesh only. It shrugs off the UV and heat that turn plastic products brittle, and it doubles as pest and ember protection. The mesh aperture gets matched to the type of leaf litter around your particular home.
Nearly all of them. Tile, metal and Colorbond roofs all take gutter guard, with the fixing method adjusted to the profile. The roof gets assessed first so the right product goes on the right way.
