Very professonal, very punctual. Did a great job we would definitely recommend.
Re-Roofing the Macleay Valley
The Macleay carries some of the oldest housing stock on the Mid North Coast, and plenty of it is ready for a new roof. We replace tile, slate, tin and Colorbond roofs from Kempsey's heritage streets to the coast at South West Rocks.

Has Your Macleay Valley Roof Done Its Time?
Nowhere else on the Mid North Coast do we see roofs as old as the ones around Kempsey and Gladstone. Federation-era terracotta, the occasional slate roof and hand-cut timber framing are still doing their job a century on, but even the best of them eventually run out of road. Add the Macleay’s floodplain humidity working on ceilings from below and the storms that barrel down the valley working from above, and age catches up quickly once it starts.
Replacing a roof like that takes more than a ute and a nail gun. As licensed tilers, slaters and repairers we can re-roof a heritage home without robbing it of its character, and give a fibro shack at Crescent Head a modern roof that will outlast the rest of the building.
What Your New Roof Includes
From the first look at the roof to the last load off to the tip, the whole job stays with us.
Old roofs often look worse than they are. David inspects the framing and covering before recommending anything, and a heritage terracotta roof in Gladstone only gets condemned when it is truly done.
Careful removal matters on older homes. We strip the roof without damaging original framing or fascias, and all the old material leaves the property with us.
Terracotta to match a federation home, or hard-wearing Colorbond for a beach shack at Crescent Head or a newer brick place at South West Rocks. The material follows the house.
Modern sarking and insulation go in under the new roof, a big upgrade for older homes coping with the valley's humidity and hot inland summers.
Everything is installed to Australian standards by licensed tradesmen, tied down and flashed for the storms that roll down the Macleay.
Heritage streets stay tidy. The block is cleared, swept and left clean the day the job finishes.
Heritage Experience You Can Lean On
A century-old roofline deserves tradesmen who respect it. The team holds tiling, slating and repair licences, so period detail is preserved where it matters and modern materials go in where they should. Either way the workmanship is the same standard.

New Roofs FAQs
Answers to the questions we get asked most.
Plan on one to two weeks for most houses. Heritage roofs can run longer if framing repairs surface once the old covering comes off, which is why David inspects thoroughly first and builds any extra work into the schedule he gives you.
Either can be right. Staying with terracotta keeps a federation home looking as it should and the material lasts generations, while Colorbond is lighter, faster to fit and copes well with valley heat and coastal salt alike. David lays out both paths with real numbers.
Almost never. Work happens in stages and the roof is sealed against weather every evening, so the household keeps running underneath. The main thing you will notice is noise during working hours.
Yes. Everything stripped from the roof, including old sarking and insulation being renewed, is carted off and disposed of responsibly as part of the fixed price.
All of them. Kempsey and West Kempsey, Frederickton, Smithtown, Gladstone, and the coast at Crescent Head and South West Rocks. David knows how differently the floodplain, the hills and the beaches treat a roof, and quotes accordingly.
