Tuncurry is the quieter, more workaday half of the twin towns, and its housing shows it. Solid brick homes and older unit blocks fill the streets back from Tuncurry Beach and Nine Mile Beach, and plenty still run the guttering they were built with. Sitting side-on to Nine Mile Beach means these places catch salt-laden easterlies year round, and that salt collects in the gutter line and rusts the steel from the trough down.
Head up the northern strip to Diamond Beach, Black Head and the newer estates at Hallidays Point and the exposure only gets stronger, with weather driving straight in off open surf. David works right across Tuncurry and the northern strip, taking in Hallidays Point, Diamond Beach, Black Head and inland to Nabiac, Failford and Bulahdelah. If you are north of the channel, you are in the service area.
It does. Homes side-on to Nine Mile Beach and the open surf at Diamond Beach and Black Head cop salt-laden easterlies most of the year, and that salt sits in the gutter line and corrodes plain steel. Colorbond’s bonded coating is built for that exposure, which is why we fit it as standard.
Newer does not always mean trouble-free. Some estate builds went up with lighter guttering or downpipes that struggle in a big easterly, and the exposed position speeds up wear. If yours are already streaking or overflowing, David can inspect them and tell you honestly whether a replacement is warranted.
Inland around Nabiac, Failford and Bulahdelah it is damp and leaf litter rather than salt. Debris traps moisture against the metal and blocks the flow, so the gutters rust and overflow anyway. A properly sized Colorbond replacement set to the right fall clears the water and lasts.
