Port Macquarie is growing quickly, but plenty of its roofs date back to the seventies and eighties, when the brick-and-tile streets around Westport and Shelly Beach were built. Applied over a properly prepared surface, the Dulux Acra-Tex systems we use typically give 10 to 15 years or more. Roofs copping direct salt air near Town Beach or Flynns Beach sit at the harder end of that scale, so David will give you an honest estimate for your street rather than a generic one.
The new colour is only half the story. The coating reseals the surface so tiles stop absorbing water, and heat-reflective options can take real heat out of the house in summer. On a coastal roof it is protection first and looks second.
Yes. Metal takes a different system to tile, with preparation and a coating formulated for steel, and that is what we apply. Done that way the finish bonds properly and copes with the salt that drifts across the coastal suburbs.
