Pull The Heat Out Before It Builds Up
David fits whirlybirds, solar vents and balanced eave systems to homes right along the northern strip, from Tuncurry and Hallidays Point up to Diamond Beach and Black Head, clearing hot stale air out of the cavity so the house sits cooler and the framing stays dry.

Nine Mile Beach Sends The Weather Straight At You
Tuncurry faces the open coast, and the frontage along Nine Mile Beach cops salt-laden easterlies with nothing to slow them down. That wind-driven moisture pushes into the roof cavity through every gap, and once it is in there a still, closed roof space holds onto it.
The newer estates up at Diamond Beach and Hallidays Point run large ceilings under wide metal roofs, and Black Head sits fully exposed to the same easterly weather. Big enclosed cavities like these load up with heat fast on a summer afternoon and stay warm long after dark. Getting a steady flow of air through them keeps the temperature down and stops condensation forming on the underside of the sheeting.
How We Get The Cavity Moving
After three decades on roofs, David can size up a Tuncurry brick home or a large Diamond Beach build and know straight away where the air is stalling and what will fix it.
The steady easterlies off Nine Mile Beach spin these all day, venting hot air from the cavity with no power at all. They handle most Tuncurry and Hallidays Point roofs well.
A powered fan clears the large cavities on the Diamond Beach and Black Head estates far quicker than a passive vent, and it keeps working on a windless day.
Low eave intakes feeding high ridge outlets set up a constant draught across the whole roof, ideal for the wide metal roofs common on the northern strip.
Salt-heavy coastal air condenses under still sheeting and breeds mould in the insulation. A moving cavity keeps that moisture from ever settling on the framing.
David reads the cavity before quoting, checking how the air travels and where it dies, so the vents match your Tuncurry roof instead of a generic fit-out.
Each vent is flashed and sealed into the roof properly, which matters on the exposed Black Head and Nine Mile frontage where wind-driven rain hunts out any loose penetration.

Roof Ventilation FAQs
Answers to the questions we get asked most.
Tuncurry and the northern beaches strip, including Hallidays Point, Diamond Beach and Black Head, plus the inland towns of Nabiac, Failford and Bulahdelah. Tile and metal roofs are both fine.
Coastal salt is hard on any roof fitting, so David uses vents rated for exposed seaside conditions and seals them so wind-driven spray cannot creep under the flashing. Along the Tuncurry frontage that choice of hardware makes a real difference to how long the install lasts.
The larger cavities under the wide metal roofs on the northern estates trap a lot of heat, and one small whirlybird rarely keeps up. David will usually recommend a solar fan or a balanced eave and ridge system sized to the roof, so the volume of air actually shifts rather than just stirs around near one vent.
In most cases yes. Damp coastal air condenses on the cold underside of the roof at night and can drip back onto the insulation and ceiling. Keeping the cavity ventilated carries that moist air out before it has the chance to condense, which is often what dries up staining on the ceiling below.
It depends on the roof size, the access and the type of vent, so a whirlybird install typically sits well below a full solar or eave and ridge system. David gives you a firm written price once he has seen the roof. Any figure here would only be a rough guide, so treat it as indicative rather than a quote.
